Understanding the Godhead

UNDERSTANDING THE GODHEAD

What is the Godhead well the word Godhead is( Theh ot' ace) in the greek and simple means divine or divinity better understood as Gods nature. Many ministers and teachers have taught that the Godhead can not be understood by our finite minds it is to complex for us to understand. Even though this is somewhat true that it would be impossible for men out of there own intellect to define the awesomeness of the Almighty God. It is possible though if God teaches us about his nature and his person for us to understand the Godhead (Gods nature). Has God explained himself to his creation?

Romans 1:18  For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;
Romans 1:19 Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.
Romans 1:20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:

So these scriptures teach us that  God has revealed his divine nature and his power to us. God's creation teaches us about his divine nature and his eternal power so that we are without excuse. You may say how does nature teach us of God's divine nature and his eternal power. All one must do is look into the heavens to the stars , the moon, and the sun how can they exist without an all powerful all knowing God?

All that we know has been created in such perfect balance , Our universe God simply spoke out of nothing and suspend it in that nothing for all this years. Look at the human body as David said how wonderfully are we made there is no doubt that we are his workmanship. Not only are we created so amazingly but also individually unique. God is amazing and unique there is none like him.

Isaiah 46:9 Remember the former things of old: for I [am] God, and [there is] none else; [I am] God, and [there is] none like me,  The Jews are Gods chosen people ,chosen  at that time to represent God to the world just as the church is chosen by God today to represent him to the world. The Jews were his witnesses as we are his witnesses
Isaiah 43:10 Ye are my witnesses, saith the Lord, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed,
neither shall there be after me.
Isaiah 43:11 I, even I, am the Lord; and beside me there is no saviour.
Isaiah 43:12 I have declared, and have saved, and I have shewed, when there was no strange god among you: therefore ye are my witnesses, saith the Lord, that I am God.

You cannot teach something very well if you do not have a thorough understanding of the subject. It is said often and well that which God calls , He also Equips. Listen to Jesus teach a jewish scribe  Deuteronomy 6:4 Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God [is] One LORD:
Deuteronomy 6:5 And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.
Mark 12:29 And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments [is], Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord:
Mark 12:30 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this [is] the first commandment.
Mark 12:31 And the second [is] like, [namely] this, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.
Mark 12:32 And the scribe said unto him, Well, Master, thou hast said the truth: for there is one God; and there is none other but he:
Mark 12:33 And to love him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love [his] neighbor as himself, is more than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices. Mark 12:34 And when Jesus saw that he answered discreetly, he said unto him, Thou art not far from the kingdom of God. And no man after that durst ask him [any question].

Did you see that Jesus taught God's divine nature as God being One and the scribe acknowledge it as Truth. Listen to Christ teaches us about the Godhead.
John 17:3 And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent. ( here are few more text to read and understand)
Isaiah 44:8 Fear ye not, neither be afraid: have not I told thee from that time, and have declared [it]? ye [are] even my witnesses. Is there a God beside me? yea, [there is] no God; I know not [any].                                         (KJV)
Isaiah 45:5 I [am] the LORD, and [there is] none else, [there is] no God beside me: I girded thee, though thou hast not known me:
Isaiah 45:6 That they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that [there is] none beside me. I [am] the LORD, and [there is] none else.
Isaiah 45:14 Thus saith the LORD, The labour of Egypt, and merchandise of Ethiopia and of the Sabeans, men of stature, shall come over unto thee, and they shall be thine: they shall come after thee; in chains they shall come over, and they shall fall down unto thee, they shall make supplication unto thee, [saying], Surely God [is] in thee; and [there is] none else, [there is] no God.
Isaiah 45:18 For thus saith the LORD that created the heavens; God himself

(John 1:3,10, Mal. 2:10)that formed the earth and made it; he hath established it, he created it not in vain, he formed it to be inhabited: I [am] the LORD; and [there is] none else.

Isaiah 45:21 Tell ye, and bring [them] near; yea, let them take counsel together: who hath declared this from ancient time? [who] hath told it from that time? [have] not I the LORD? and [there is] no God else beside me; a just God and a Saviour; [there is] none beside me.
Isaiah 45:22 Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I [am] God, and [there is] none else.

Do you see that over and over there is a unique quality about our God he is One , not many but One. Many teach that God is triune or a plurality of persons, that his divine nature is a Trinity ,three distinct personalities but that is not taught in the Holy scriptures maybe this is why many say they cannot  thoroughly understand the Godhead? Simply because they will not accept what God has simply already explained to them about himself. That He is ONE and has manifested his self in one ,Christ Jesus our LORD!

Colossians 2:9 For in him (Jesus) dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.
Colossians 2:10 And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:                                                                 1 Timothy 3:16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God
(God is a spirit John 4:24)was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.
Hebrews 1:3 Who (Jesus)being the brightness of [his] glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;     If you want to see the invisible God all you have to do is look at Jesus he is the invisible God made visible!

Colossians 1:15 Who (Jesus)is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:
( The title Father explains God as our creator ,We have already learned that God is a Spirit, God as Spirit could not be seen but God clothed in the flesh could  be seen. When Jesus speaks of being one with or the Father in me he is speaking of the spirit ,dwelling in him fully. Jesus was a man but in him dwelled Almighty God. Jesus was not another God but the true and living God just not in the same form not as Spirit only but now Spirit clothed in Flesh so that we could finally see him that had created us!)
John 10:30 I and my Father are one.

John 14:6  Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
John 14:7 If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.
John 14:8 Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us.
John 14:9 Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?
John 14:10 Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.
John 14:11 Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works 'sake.
